Our Ethos
A staggering 15.3milion camping and caravan holidays are taken every year, making this growth industry worth an estimated £2.5bn to the UK economy. The obvious downside to this growth is the environmental impact of these resource heavy holidays. Ocean Construction specialise in design and manufacture of low cost accommodation for the glamping industry. Our structures are built into the surrounding landscape, using sustainable materials, cutting edge design and innovative amenity integration. How it began
Ocean Construction was founded in 2010 when we were commissioned to manufacture the first eco-friendly 20 sq metre low energy glamping pod. Having operated a campsite for a number of years ourselves, we identified a simple need for permanent, low cost, eco-friendly accommodation designed to extend the seasons, by providing better protection from inclement weather and over time boosting a campsite’s profitability. Our industry experience, gave first had experience of just how wasteful campsites can be and the subsequent impact that is having on our environment, which is why all of our pods are made from sustainably sourced materials. We work with talented construction contractors to implement the most eco-friendly pod designs into your site, offering you solutions built for longevity and peace of mind. Our pods blend and are often built into the landscape, providing visitors with memorable interactions with the great outdoors the whole year through.
